LuckyMe are very proud to present Obey City’s Merlot Sounds EP.
In the last 18 months since Brooklyn producer and writer Sam Obey – AKA Obey City released his superlative debut EP ‘Champagne Sounds’ he hasn’t stopped working. From extensive touring in Europe, the US and Japan (releasing Shochu Sounds EP as a Japanese exclusive which topped the Electronic chart on it’s first week) to his true home in studios in LA & NYC. A gifted natural musician Sam has honed his craft at the centre of a new generation of New York singers and rappers writers with tracks for LuckyMe and his own Brooklyn based Astronautico label and numerous cowrites and remixes for the likes of Jensen Sportag, Kelela, Inc and Cornelius.
On this new EP he showcases a series of upcoming and exciting vocalists (himself included) from across the spectrum of his taste – from new rap and soul – Kelela, 1-O.A.K, Eric Arc Elliot (Flatbush Zombies) and newcomer Anthony Flammia who provides the beautiful centerpiece here on “Waterbed”.

LuckyMe are very proud to present Jacques Greene’s Phantom Vibrate EP. A three track ep exploring themes of human interaction with technology – written in advance of three headline hardware shows in Brooklyn, Montreal & London.
Now residing in New York, Jacques Greene is a producer helping define a new time for dance music – something not beholden to house & techno prescriptivism but rather folding the digital modern world into an often fetishised exotic notion of the club. Should the old guard of dance music take notice they would find an old head on young shoulders – doing something modern with the form of the music they created because this was always meant to be innovative. This was always meant to grow, adapt and evolve.

LuckyMe are very proud to present the ‘Concreté Misery’ LP from Sevendeaths. Based in Edinburgh, Steven Shade spent many years as a band member in various projects on the experimental fringes of the Scottish Rock scene – most notably with our early signing ‘Americanmen’ alongside Claude Speeed, Eunoia’s Ali Lloyd and Danananaykroyd’s Paul Carlin.
With Concreté Misery, Shade takes a different tact. A solitary affair written then adapted in long sprawling generative environments, testing the limits of conventional DAWs. The LP features 6 expansive compositions of deep, evolving programmed synth work. No guitars. No pedals. This is an agonizing record drawn out of processors. Moments of sparkling arpeggiators disappear between long plates of dissonant drone; then emerge again, clambering their way to the light. At once claustrophobic & personal and grandiose & distant – this is a record that hangs in a delicate balance.
With opener Petrograde finding its way into the sets of Rustie & Hudson Mohawke, and awarded Pitchfork’s ‘Best New Track’ on release week- We are now proud to bring you a full digital release available with all good retailers.

For 5 years LuckyMe have given away a track a day on the run up to Christmas from this very site via what the original digital music advent calendar. While the LuckyMe label is getting credit for bringing this together we wish to thank our artists: The Blessings, Rustie, Lunice, Hudson Mohawke, Baauer, Cashmere Cat, S-Type, Jacques Greene, Sevendeaths, Parc En Ciel, Claude Speeed, Americanmen, ANGO, DJ Paypal, Obey City & Eclair Fifi. This family is very real and we are nothing without the talent, time & energy they put into making this music.
Rustie is Touring the US right now and to celebrate we are giving away a previously unheard remix of his from early 2012, commissioned as part of a lost remix project: ‘Lucky-T’, a collab between LM and Decon Records for Pusha’s Wrath Of God EP. LuckyMe are very proud to present the second release from Cid Rim – Mute City. Continuing with themes from his beautiful self titled debut last year – Mute City finds the Austrian producer Clemens Bacher continue to forge his own sophisticated electronic music that defies contemporary classification. Simply, he doesn’t fit. And there’s some good reason: hailing from Vienna where Bacher is a recognised young free jazz drummer, tutor and multi-instrumentalist – he was always cultivating the sound of ‘Cid Rim’ bringing a patina of otherworldy musicianship to his progressive electronic hip hop. The chords employed across Mute City are thick, distorted and complex. His background in jazz informs an approach that is perhaps true of all of the LuckyMe artists- there is no rule book here and it’s definitely more fun without one.
Out September 17th worldwide on Vinyl & Digital here:
Proud to announce the first in a two part debut from Sam Obey on LuckyMe Records. You may know him as Obey City [pronounced oh-bee-sit-ee],the head of Astro Nautico Records & warehouse parties in Crown Heights. A producer in the truest sense of the word, Sam has written, recorded and engineered for a generation of New-New Yorkers. Not to mention Djing and production duties for The Flatbush Zombies. But here we let him stretch out on his own with a fully instrumental debut.
Later this year Merlot Sounds will bring together the threads of his hyper melodic production on a fully vocal follow up.

CID RIM - MUTE CITY
(LM014) LuckyMe are very proud to present the second release from Cid Rim – Mute City. Continuing with themes from his beautiful self titled debut last year - Mute City finds the Austrian producer Clemens Bacher continue to forge his own sophisticated electronic music that defies contemporary classification. Simply, he doesn't fit. And there's some good reason: hailing from Vienna where Bacher is a recognised young free jazz drummer, tutor and multi-instrumentalist – he was always cultivating the sound of 'Cid Rim' bringing a patina of otherworldy musicianship to his progressive electronic hip hop. The chords employed across Mute City are thick, distorted and complex. His background in jazz informs an approach that is perhaps true of all of the LuckyMe artists- there is no rule book here and it's definitely more fun without one.
(LM016) "Obey City brings that bryllyant, heady luxury feel to LuckyMe with the hyper-flash 'Champagne Sounds'. Falling neatly in line with their MVP's, TNGHT and Baauer, the Brooklyn-based beat builder and co-founder of the Astro Nautico posse serves a searingly lush sound in six parts, borrowing from '90s R&B lean, '80s electro-boogie-soul and up-to-the-nanosecond hyper-funk. The execution is just flawless, from the aerial Miami glyde of 'Reflect Effect' to the belly-tight trap and jungle footwork-like fills and Fairlight twang of 'Quantum Phase' thru the magical pirouettes of 'Tell Her' and the big people bounce of 'Fallin''." - Boomkat
Limited X500 vinyl worldwide. Part Two, Merlot Sounds, coming soon.
(LM015) New Jacques Greene EP on LuckyMe Records with guest feature from How To Dress Well. Limited X500 vinyl worldwide - then it's gone. Orders here also receive limited sticker set. Our first press suffered manufacturing error and another order is on it's way. We ship next week.
(LM013) "LuckyMe are on a roll at the moment... they helped create the epic meeting of Lunice and Hudson Mohawke to form TNGHT - a record that has turned the rap production game on its head. In light of this, they now unveil more mighty instrumental beats in the shape of this 6-track EP from Scotland's S-Type. Featuring huge synth-lines, punchy drums, chopped vocal samples and a particularly incredible Roger Troutman-esque vocal feature from Livin' Proof's Budgie, this EP is a must-have for fans of the new wave of future hip-hop production." - Bleep
(LMW002) "LuckyMe's latest son is Brooklynite, Baauer, purveyor of the swaggest trill and Dutch haardcore-ripping hip hop. It's short and very sweet, three tracks clocking in at just over 2 minutes each and riding from the crunken daftness of 'Dum Dum' to the Hellfish & DJ Producer-style bounce of 'My Nose' to the 'floor-shaking bass quake and 808 trills of 'Swerve'. Mad fun!" - Boomkat
(LM012) "Deep synth washes from Cid Rim, who we recently discovered is to be the latest addition to the LuckyMe collective and an artist that is definitely worth watching out for… All we know about him is that he has done some drumming for Dorian Concept's live show. His debut mini-album is a feast of colour and texture set across nine tracks with a remix tagged on the end from his pal, Mr Concept. A top quality album distilling a range of influences into one carefully arranged piece of harmony." - Bleep
(WAP337LM) "Hudson Mohawke steps things up a gear with this hyped and ridiculously anticipated collaboration with fellow beats alchemist, Lunice - both representing their respective corners, Warp and LuckyMe. Their live shows and snippets of their tracks that have been found online have fuelled the excitement around this release and now it's finally here in all it's glory. Straight to the point, simple and hard as you like beats that could set alight underground dancefloors as well as soundtrack the largest commercial rap and R'n'B stars on the planet. Beware, TNGHT are planning to kick up a storm, and they mean business..." - Bleep
(LM011) "Luckyme bring the best out of Travis Stewart on his 2nd Machinedrum single for the Glasgow institution. Following his scorching 'Alarma' 12", the 'SXLND EP' comes with a slightly more refined, sexier sound running classic Chicago, Italo and current UK sounds to his exacting specifications. The tracks were originally written in 2010, around the time of his 'Many Faces' EP, but have been recently re-engineered for 2012 'floors. He comes with deeply infectious, futurist R&B tribalism on the title track, all snagging vocal hooks and bashy drums with a sweeter tilt, while 'No Respect' sounds like a more optimised, heavyweight version of his Sepalcure sound. Our percy has to be the barking, Italo-sampling 'Van Vogue': a dance-owning swinger with cruising sub strafes and super-glossy arpeggios, but then again the stylish House grover 'DDD' is another strong contender. Ach, it's all good!" - Boomkat
(LM010) "LuckyMe's latest recruit is Ango, contemporary of Jacques Greene and Lunice and maker of flash, heavy, feminine R&B heat. His solo debut 'Another City Now' is undoubtedly impressive, a very crafty balance of underground dancefloor Funk and pop-wise arrangements with universal potential. At the top you'll find the hefty R&Boogie chug of 'All That You Can Stand' and the sweetened flair of 'Follow Me', while 'Looking For Love' feels like a Dâm-Funk just found some new subbass toy. Meanwhile 'Love Me' bears no small resemblance to Ango's fellow Montréal resident Deon, and then there's the outstanding synth-soul charmer 'Better For You' and the Rustie-esque ultra-boogie pyrotechnics of 'What You Lose'. Fans of Jamie Lidell, Rustie, Hud Mo - get on this!" - Boomkat
(LMW001) 4 track bootlegs of The Dream, Lil Waynes daughter, Madonna & 666. The title track featured on Jackmasters Fabric Live 59 Mix CD and tore up the Summer. You might recognise it on Azealia Banks debut album.
(LM009) "Lunice ain't the most prolific producer out there, but in his corner of the field, he's one of the finest. Following last year's solo debut 'Stacker Upper' EP, he returns to LuckyMe with the bolder, more substantial 'One Hunned' EP to work a slicker, leaner, and better rendered sound. Like Hud Mo and Rustie, he's well enamoured with the debonaire style of late '80s/early '90s R&B and New Jack Swing, but has his ears firmly on a 2011 sound. Those influences are most overt in the Hollywood chords of 'Glow' and 'Juice' or the soul blown chops of 'And She Said', but it's the centripetal drum diffusions and dance-enhancing edit slickness of each cut that lets you know what time it really is. Best of all is the wily sparsity of 'I See U', turning out iced stabs and club-slaying synth drops like a pro. Highly recommended." - Boomkat
(LM008) "LuckyMe drop one of the most anticipated dancefloor 12"s of the last 12 months, backed up with remixes of tracks from 'The Look' by Rinse FM's Braiden and UR's Mark Flash. There's no need to bang on about 'Another Girl', it's straight anthem material combining ohrwurming vocal, a a rolling emotional topography and dancing neon melodies in beautiful style. Flip it and Braiden gives a tough rework of 'Holdin' On', full of titanium cowbells, rampant R1 Ryders style bass revs and chopped vocals, but UR's Mark Flash steals the show with a Hi-tek, carnival-killing remix of 'The Look'. Very large 12"!!!" - Boomkat
(LM007) The debut solo release from the Montreal native Jacques Greene represents a new breed of House producer whose influences range from slick 90s UK Garage, classic Chicago House and glossy RnB. Greene before the buzz. Essential.
(LM006) Lunice Fermin Pierre hails from Montreal Canada and is poised to become the next worldwide star in Hip Hop production - going way beyond the beats scene - he has already released official remixes for artists and labels as diverse as The XX, XV & Deerhunter as well as his leaked bootleg series and received featured press from XLR8R, URB, Pitchfork, Dazed and FACT. Catch his seminal debut, here before it's gone.
(KSNN10) Not a release on our label, but the debut from LuckyMe co-founders The Blessings. Galaxy High a melting pot of 90's kid influences from 'Fine Art' & 'Dom Sum'. Released on Nod Navigators and distributed by Rush Hour it's an ambitious first release on this dutch tastemaker label. Artwork by LA designer Stephen Serato. A&R'd by Mamiko Motto of Hepcat Radio / NTS.
(LM005) Travis Stewart aka Machine Drum was one of those producers that inspired what we do at LuckyMe. He consistently innovates and works across a span of genre, from Hip Hop, to Pop, to Dubstep, to House, to Brooklyn Fuzz Rock. Here we see how he made his name with one side of snapping textural melodic beat music with a flip of out and out ghetto house and juke.
MACHINEDRUM - MANY FACES - DELUXE PACKAGE 12" TEE & CASSETTE ALBUM
(LM005B) On this 12" ep he provides a side of 3 melodic, slumping electro hip hop and a flipside of ghetto house and juke before anyone else in 'the scene'. This deluxe edition of 'Many Faces' (limited to 100) also featured a full cassette album of the TStewart rock project 'The Image Generation' and exclusive Many Faces Machine Drum Tee Shirt.
(LM004) Double gatefold double vinyl feature 6 original tracks from our first band-signing American Men. One disk of driving, refreshing lazer rock music and an added 12" of remixes by Ikonika, Optimum, Falty DL, Hudson Mohawke & Machinedrum.
(LM003CD) A 'micro album' by the innovative New York based producer Mike Slott. Mike is one of the original founders of the LuckyMe family. We have been making our way in the world together since 2004. This is a beautiful record which takes the beat formulae into new melodic territory. Dedicated to the city of New York that continues to inspire him. Here we are selling the Limited Japan Import CD with 2 additional Tracks which did not feature on the vinyl

MIKE SLOTT - LUCKY 9TEEN
(LM003) "The talents of future hiphop prodigy Mike Slott come to fruition with his debut mini-album 'Lucky 9teen' landing on the Lucky Me co-operative imprint. You've no doubt spotted his name and heard his beats sprawled all over the electronic scene over the last couple of years, from inclusions on Mary Anne-Hobbs 'Wild Angels' comp to a part on the Beat Dimension series and a slew of highly collectable 7"s, setting him apart as a beat auteur operating at the highest echelons of the scene alongside Flylo and Dabrye. He flips 80's boogie, jazz arrangements and electronica into new shapes on 'Amanallah', dices with exotic sci-fi beat organisms on 'Six AM' and craftily nudges classic hiphop/electronica templates with 'Gardening'. The neck snappin' beat of '40 Winx' twinkles and under a constellation of gorgeous synthline sequences and 'Snow Birds' trips into sci-fi jazz scapes, like Mad Mike jamming with Jamie Vex'd in anti-gravity, continued into deep space with the digital only 'Expansion' version. Like everything else he's put his name to, this record is stunning." - Boomkat
(LM002) Exclusively produced by Hud Mo, this is bedroom RnB and Soul music with a difference. Nadsroic is Ciorsdan Brown the unique vocalist from Glasgow who helped kick off the label with this rare vinyl demo of 5 tracks spanning jig to folk. Also features the only Hud Mo verse ever committed to mastering.
