Dominic Flannigan is the Creative Director of the LuckyMe label. He worked as a fashion designer for five years, spent a long Summer in Chicago at the opening of the Millenium Park turning the disused Miegs Field into a astrological sculpture playground for the Adler Planetarium. He also spent a year designing print and web for independent cinema – but undoubtedly the driving motivation in all his varied work has been music. So in 2006 he returned to Scotland and gathered a multi disciplinary background together to focus on this one label in partnership with his friends in music & design.
Whether as a skate & graffiti exponent through his young teens or as an environmental designer in his twenties – Dominic’s tastes have developed the aesthetic that people associate as the LuckyMe house style: an un-easy ménage à trois of sub-culture, pop-culture and high-culture.
Flannigan has led commissions for Warner, Universal, Warp Records, Mother, Becks, Nike, Exposure, Channel 4, Hugo Boss, Beams Japan and BBC Radio One. He has been awarded ‘Tomorrow’s Leaders’ by The Scottish Enterprise (2004), ‘YCN Best In Year’ (2005), Dazed’s ’50 Young Creative Entrepreneurs’, republished by The Independent (2009), The Lists ‘Hot 100′ (2010, 2011, 2012) and H:Club 100’s Top 10 in Music (2012).
