79. The Blessings - Brainfeeder Galaxy High Mixtape

Peace to Abi

Lotus reached out to us way back at the birth of the Feeder site for a mix but he's busy and we're busy. So now, a few weeks from the christening of our debut release with Nod Navigators, The Blessings stitch together a bunch of exclusives. Our shit and our friends shit.

Please support The Blessings debut, Galaxy High, out September on 12" and Digital.

78. Machinedrum - The World Famous Show Mixtape

Peace to Sana

In the last few months Machinedrum has stepped from his place at the heart of Neu New York to knock us bad teethed British off our fickle throne in electronic music. After years of the most reputable hip hop production fused with electronica he was very influential to us here. But it's like lately he took all this Great Great British dubstep, garage, house and electro and dragged them through the machine from the fly. What came out on the other side is a uniquely smart and emotional creature that walks from the hip. No one makes em like Travis.

With this tape we get a surprisingly warm trip round old school electro, hip hop, stadium rock and boogie. No one expected that right? But fuck, aren't you hearing what I'm saying. Machinedrum's gonna mutate on us.

Please support our 5th release - Machinedrum Many Faces, out everywhere now on 12" and Digital.

77. Konx Om Pax - End of Sun Mixtape

Peace to Kyle

If you don't know about Konx Om Pax's home label Display Copy, you should. Some of the most discerning and personal spots for mixtape, video and print indulgence since, well, here. But like, if you thought we were weird, you should fuck with Tom. He's the twisted mind behind sleeves and videos for all our friends and he's one of the moodiest friendliest people we know. We got made love for Tom. This is a funny tape though. It's like he's gone aw fuckit, ill dj like those normal djs for once! like he's been twitching to put more krautrock spanners in the works the entire time. What he accidentally did here is make an excellent summary of some of Summers hits, but where it gets really good is where he can't help himself- fucks us up.

76. American Men - Middle of Sun Mixtape

Peace to our Sonar front row.

Alilloyd from American Men didn't make this for the site or anything. He just posted it to our private forum where we all swap music and talk about world (read R&B) affairs. We all just loved it cause this summer it's been a lot of shows. Lot of clubs. Maybe not as much sun as we might of deserved. And so in the eternal search for new music to play out we kinda walked right past amazing records like the Emeralds LP. Ali putting this up was like a shot of pure Vitamin D in the ear.

Please support our 4th release - American Men Cool World, out everywhere now on 12" and Digital.

75. Premier Rang - Premier Rang Mixtape

Peace to Anne Louise

Is it fuckin obvious to say one of our favourite labels is Italian's Do it Better. Actually, maybe it's not. Like sometimes people send us demos saying things like: "My music is like Mancuso mixed with Caribou" and then you get a link to Wikepedia references for two artists you would surely have to know to do what we do. S'like back in the day when we listened to hip hop A LOT, and a beat on the Nas album would sound like a beat on the Can Ox record from the year before and people would be like " nah,s'just coincidence:. Don't tell me that the world of music is so big that folks aren't shopping in the same stores, buying the same shit, and being influenced. CIpha Sounds went from Fat Beats store clerk to NERD A&R. Anyways, I just want to say that the Premier Rang Desire CD release on Italians Do It Better is excellent and this mix for us is the epitome of... understatement...Simply... It has poise.

74. Eclair Fifi & The Blessings - LuckyMe Presents... Sonar 2010 Special Mixtape

Peace to Georgie

We've been so busy in preparation of releasing Cool World and Many Faces this month, as well as preparing our visuals, live shows and contracts for the big Sonar show that we're gonna have to sit on our contributors mixtapes til next month. We wanted to give you something special from the crew for this month to coincide with our Sonar spectacular. We called in Eclair & Fine Art late last night and asked if they'd be up for a live mix - no retakes. A one-shot back 2 back pass as a special Sonar Mixtape. Packed full of exclusives from the label roster and our super friends, alongside some straight-up Summer jams for the year. No biggie. It as rough as a good live tape should be with levels all over the place but we think it sounds like we had fun making it.

Aight so, here comes the sun everyone. See you on the flipside of Europes largest electronic music festival.

73. Respite - Too Cold Mixtape

Peace to Some Girl

Like I say in the blurb for Darrell's tapes - all the LuckyMe artists featured on this site come certified. Don't under estimate a single one. You may have never heard of him, but Respite is 21, he likes drunk girls and studies graphic design in Leeds. He likes electro, dubstep and everything to emerge since. But his own music is beautifully uncontrolled. Max Dunbar once said of Respite's song 'Girls_Suitcases' " AMAZING.... it's post everything." And I've had surprising people say to me a few times of late, that a Respite record is the one they are waiting to see from us. Well it's coming guys, but first we're gonna have to get him some monitors cause word on the street is he's still making this amazing shit on PC Speakers. Actually I love that about him (Joe Respite, kiss your advance goodbye).

So, This isn't a concept tape. It's a 'shit I'm feeling right now' tape meaning the ubiquitous 'want me' makes an appearance, butted up against some shiny rnb surprises. It's dope. A perfect example of LM in the '10. So watch out for this kid.

72. James Pants - A Horrible Fancy Tale

Peace to Sanaz

When Mo came back from his US Tour there was this weird looking dude living in his flat, eating from his fridge... James Fuckin' Pants. Not the sorta shit that happens everyday. Or actually, for Mo this is exactly the sorta shit that happens everyday. James is one of our very favourite artists round here cause no one lets more of their character blossom out through their selection of music. It's all in there: The humour. The outsider. The understated cool. The darned unashamed-ness. Even this weird flirtation with the macabre. Mannn, Pants truly loves the desperate and obscure. Not RARE. I said obscure. Those things that are seldom seen, heard or given any value. I've seen James play many times now and I remember he'd play some shit that I have never given a second to before - like Barry White records and, on this tape the Sabbath joint that kicks it off. Don't get me wrong, I love these artists but when he put his hands to them they became something else. See, he's drawing from this whole shitty chain of undervalued and unwanted music and he's bringing them back into our modern context to say something about what it all means side by side. What does it say about man that we made all this horrible and beautiful sounds in our recorded history of 100 years? He's making narratives out of minute morsels of new age music, kraut, punk, rock, rap & techno to string out this story. What you're left with is the mixtape equivalent of the ride from the beginning of dungeons and dragons. You strap-in for 34 minutes and you pop out the other end of this horribly fancy tale sorta feeling woozy, dragged through a 1000 lost exotic places.

Come on this is James Pants - No Track listing

71. Darrell - Light Surfing Mixtape

Peace to this girl from our HInterland show

Darrell used to share a flat with Hud Mo and Heather a couple years back and we'd head round to make music and next door dude was sat on his stolen office chair churning out the cleanest Garage and (forgive us) Bassline sounding Hip Hop edits we'd ever heard. Native to Glasgow he's been friends to the Numbers and Fortified dudes for years but it was over this Healthfarm 6 period (FYI we name all Mo's studios the Healthfarm) that we got to hearing more and more of this guys music which led to us including him in LM. Well, Darrell's got a better chair now. A better flat. He's got a literal tonne of 80's synth soul, pop, booty, early west coast electro & gangster rap and he's one of the most prolific producers in our stable turning out excellent dj tools and producing a new live boogie project which so far sounds bonkers.

Look, all our crew are safe hands. All come up with the goods. We got what, like 12 people on this site now? Don't over look a single one. Not for a second. Cause Darrell is on the up. 2011 we're putting in work for this guy.

70. Hyetal - Draw For The Fruit Bowl Mixtape

Peace to Jo and the other girl.

So, Bristol is nuts eh? Hyetal is yet another shimmering example of forward thinking electronic music coming outta this city. I mean, Hyetal's music is beautifully stripped back. Everything sits confidently in his music. Satisfying as fuck, anti-academic dubstep, hip hop, garage influenced dance music. Now that we've got the reviews section of the blurb out the way we can tell you that last year we were working loooong into the night on the Mary Anne Hobbs visuals for Wild Angels. The girl in the photo to the < was the girl in the viral film we made for Mary Anne's comp, and we ran around these derelict tramlines on Southside Glasgow dressed up like wolves and witches. I was playing the soundtrack to the film as we shot and every time Hyetal's 'We Should Light A Fire' came round, it was like the whole environment just sank and got heavy. Jo was majorly creeped out but this is music that made sense out there that summer night. His music is really visual to me. I'm not sure what this latest mix looks like. It's like cycling to Numbers I think. That's a good thing trust me.

69. Kingdom - April Fools Gold Part 2 Mixtape

Peace to Cynthia.

Back when myspace was really fucking exciting Eclair Fifi added a then 'DJ Ezra aka KINGDOM' who we bugged for his flip of Bustas 'Eyes Can See'. We made some swaps and stayed in touch and when we toured the US in late 08 Kingdom came down and we finally met in person right before we blew up the amp in Nu Blu. Jump forward to April 2010 and Kingdom is down with our peoples at Night Slugs (THE TRUTH!!!!) and has put out his first cerftified anthem in the form of his debut 12" - Mindreader ft Shyvonne (Fools Gold Records). With two European tours in 4 months, Miami Winter Music, SXSW, tours of OZ and Radio One shine - man it's looking like this is gonna be the year that Kingdom gets what he's due. His sensibility is perfect. Back in like, February I think it was we played this show for Last.Fm at Cargo which wrapped up about 4 and then we slogged up to the Egg at Kings Cross for the Night Slugs label launch. By the time we got there the smoke was thick in the air and the crowd were grindin on each other. The booth was a who's-who of shit we're excited about right now: Bok Bok, L Vis, Mosca, Greena, Jam City, Ikonika, and Manara on the mic. Then this dancing shape from out the smoke takes to the booth and it's Kingdom, banging out steel drums on some CD-R carnivale. My memory of that night is buckafast-hazey but just in terms of vibe, Kingdom was the most satisfyingly 'on my own shit' DJ I've seen in ages. Every success this year killer. Thank you for the mix. You've been busy.

02. Marlon D - Funky Angel (Edit ft. Lumidee)

68. Maxmillian Dunbar - Make Your Transistion Mixtape

Peace to Naomi and Christine. (cute couple and thank you for that dookie rope you made us.)

Max Dunbar runs the excellllllent Future Times Records and as well as solo production and DJing contributes to his group Beautiful Swimmers who we abosulutely fuck with. It's just a beautiful thing to find guys all over the world who are so legit about music and cultural referencing. If I was to copy paste our intro emails they would read like a ping pong of youtubes from two rap/NJS nerds who were into cartoons, except with us... no wait, that's exactly what it was. Exactly. So Max worked on this mix over a couple months and now I'm so fuckin happy with it. We at LuckyMe really love all these mixes equally as if they were children or pets, but they seems to have all just upped the anti on each other these last few months. This Max Dunbar tape is so sick. The whole thing shimmers. We like this tape the most equally. Support Future Times Records and the releases of Max Dunbar.

67. JD Twitch - Optimo Espacio RIP

Peace to Natalie

Act like you know. If there has been any single great influence on Glasgow's musical reputation it has been the impeccable attitude and style of Optimo Espacio's JD Twitch and Jonny Wilkes. If ever there was one, Sundays at the Subclub have been a complete institution of clubbing in Glasgow for the last 12 years- scaring off any competition. Whole venues would sooner close on Sundays than compete with Optimo. It was that serious. When I started at Glasgow School of Art there was no department that would put on a Monday morning lecture in acknowledgment that the attendance would be weak.Mondays were a fucking ghost town on Renfrew Street. Can you imagine a club where dub turned techno turned hip hop turned electro turned rock turned punk turned techno. And the hand type set flyers and the girls and the 'we love your ears' neons. Man, these guys just knew myth building better than anyone I've ever known. I once heard someone mutter that Twitch's only rule in music was that he hated sax and would never play a record which included the instrument, but of course it was bullshit - I just ate up and believed it. And I would go, and Hud Mo would be working the bar and Nadsroic would be working the bar and the whole time you'd be making these lists of songs in your head: what they played and how the fuck they took you on such a ride from here to there in three records and a bunch of 808 effects. I mean, Optimo remain the absolute gold standard for us. A huge influence on LuckyMe and their Sunday night shows will be missed. This beautiful little aknowledgement of us by Twitch is an honour.

66. Nick Catchdubs - April Fools Gold Mixtape

Peace to Anna at Pageant

Last year we April Fooled about this and this year it just sorta happened naturally. Nick mailed us out the blue a while back looking for Rustie's Neko joint and a couple weeks later me and mo were standing in Austin in mother fucking shorts, eating nachos at The Fader Fort at SXSW, watching Nick blast out that new Drake edit. Shit was one of the most perfect moments of our tour. Nick's so effortless with this shit, spanning so much in the 45 minutes it's impossible to deny Fools Gold as one of the leading dance music labels of our time.

65. Lukid - Don't Luke, Now Mixtape

Peace to Christine at Pageant

Lukid is on the starting lineup for one of our favourite fellow labels Werk Discs. What puts him up there in the hallowed ranks of our 'favourites' is that he understands subtlety. Hearing this tape is like walking a slow declining trail. You don't know when it happened but you started ambling and by the end you've ended up running. On receiving it I put it on thinking " oh shit this is a perfect contrast to Nick's banger rammed tape this month.' But it just builds momentum effortlessly creeping up into deep clicking techno territory. The whole tone of it is like twin peaks season three or like, Don't Look Now - The New Batch. Also, I'm corny with the puns and he never sent a mix title so I just fucking gave it that name cause I know he'd hate it. Psyche Luke.

64. John Disco - Bistape

Peace to Steph

Legends tend to get pissed off with their own back-story. Sorry John. This lil blurb is for those of us who are naive to John's legacy in Glasgow band and the culture of local/not local music. In 94 John formed indy pop band Bis and famously appeared on TOTP without a record deal (shit I remember watching that particular show. What a trip. Sugar Sugar was my jammy-jam). In time Bis signed with Chemikal Underground, K Records and even the Beastie Boy's Grand Royal. Their song was used as closing theme on the powerpuff girls and if anyone we know gets to say this shit as fact, it's John... "I'm BIG in Japan." Bis sold 100,000 units in one week on the release of their debut in Asia. Since these crazy days John has been a constant innovator working as a DJ in Dirty Hospital and playing in ska band Amphetameanies with a couple of Belle & Sebastian's. John also works the boards as a prolific producer for the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Fangs, Linus Loves and Mylo. Okay, this is turning into a wikepedia page so let me conclude by saying that in our lifetime and in the current culture of music in 2000&when, we couldn't hope to do what this guy has done for our home town on the international stage. We truly commend you John Disco.

Yin and Yang with the J Disco and Swindle tapes but that's a beautiful thing. It's dope for us when an artist just goes, fuck it, I'm the don of what I do. I'm gonna make a mix that stays banging. No beat is skipped here. Swin' gives us exactly the dose of melodic grime and funky we were looking for. I feel compelled after the John Disco bio to really sell you this tape. 62. Ben UFO - Hessle Forever and Ever and Ever Mix

Peace to Anna M

Ben Thomson aka Ben UFO is one of the chiefs of the excellent Hessle Audio. But you know that. And you know what to expect on this tape - seamless mixing from one the best out. The scene is so vibrant right now. WIth a new-found freedom to draw from anywhere in the last twenty years of dance and urban music, its made for a culture of producers and djs who don't hold back on any fusion. Nothing is corny. Nothing is disregarded. You just make it, and add it onto the long chain of thousands of banging, fleeting ideas locked within the mixes that are quickly filling the internet and pirates. But don't see this as saturation, cause the more we make the more there is. Let Ben UFO be your guide this month with 28 tracks in 61 minutes - each with the prospect of making another 28 tracks. That's how it works. Hessle Audio X LuckyMe forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever.

61. Gosub - Message From The Stars Mix

Peace to Alex for the photo.

Wow, the shit we learned from Gosub... Way back in October we put on this pretty horrible show in London with Rustie, Hud Mo, Jimmy Edgar, Dam Funk, Gosub, Kode 9, Ikonika, Manny Z and Greena all playing within an LED prison they call the Lightbox in Vauxhall. Our throw down with Citinite was a looong night of arguments with door staff and sound men but by the end the music had been incredible. One of the most cherished respites of the day was hanging out with Damon, Jimmy and Gos' , catching an indian mixed grill with the stars. Gosub's story is like Hudson Mohawkes' in reverse. The product of years in California working as a major label studio engineer and producer (for major hip hop artists to skando majorette pop royalty). Shad felt dissatisfied with his studio tan, lack of spare time and value of life. It's an old story of money to spend when you've no time to spend it. Having felt he'd accomplished his dream too early Shad drew back into this obscure analogue world of distopic electro and miami bass starting his own Isophlux label. Possibly in an exploration into what is 'base' and 'real' about electronic music after years of adding gloss to pop music. HIs choice to move back to Miami was a commitment to the underground. To travels with a backpack full of machines. To playing sweaty, dark shows. Overall, to the path one creates for themselves. One of the most unpretentious and heavy thinking dudes we have met throwing parties, we are watching all Gosub does these days. Support his new release on Citinite and keep on walking.

This dude is genuinely one of the nicest peoples in music. The head of Flask records and I talk about how there's this generation graduating through the music industry, built on anti-elitism and genuine passion for music. Regular nice guys. In fact, most of our tape folks are like that. We've only met a couple douchetroops in this rap game - I'll leave their name out for another time. Thanks for the dope mix Samoyed.   LuckyMe mixtape 58. Mike Slott - Fernando Castillo Mix

Peace to Diane. Miss ya kid.

I was making my way back to Scotland from the Numbers X Fabric takeover and I was feeling hungover and despondent. Despite a great crowd, great music and a great party - I was a total spoiled brat. I rode out the download of Mike's new tape on the shitty train wi-fi and from the first 30 seconds of track one something shook me awake. Without planning it Mike had reminded me why we do what we do. It's not a mix of white labels. Not ableton mixed. But it is so timelessly fresh that it soaked up all my bleak, hung over, post-xmas negativity and turned it into an unexpected smile as I rode a train home in the snow. If there's something Mike has imparted with this mixtape tribute to the life of Fernando Castillo, it is that we should stop studying our place in our art and start loving it again. We all need to hear that once in a while. It's stupid and saccharin but I hope my schmutz is somehow relevant to you. Love what you do in 2010. And thank you Mike Slott for the wake up.

LuckyMe mixtape 57. Dorian Concept - Mi NYE Mix

We have friends all over the world. Oliver is one of them. When he comes to Glasgow we pack out the club for him, turn out the lights and turn him up. He wakes up in the park when he stays here, drinking late with Joe beside the picnic benches and apple blossom in Kelvingrove. Hell, when he played Sonar I think we filled rows two and three with Glasgow folks going nuts. So know this: when we asked Dorian Concept to come stay with us over New Years Eve, to play our sold out party at Stereo with Numbers, and provide a soundtrack to the year ahead in the form of this here mixtape, we didn't take it lightly. This is an artist who has blown us away in 2009. Thank you Oliver. Buckfast on us. Here's to the exxes.

Peace to Check'y.

44. Machine Drum - Footwerk Classixxx Mix

There are new artists coming up all the time that we love here at LuckyMe, but if you trace these mixtapes wayyy back to our first episodes a couple of - I guess you could say - 'innovators' dominated our tastes around the formation of the label you see here today. Machine Drum definitely, definitely counts as one of those. Before the world lost it's mind on 'wonky' and latched onto the ONE IDEA that electronic music doesn't need to be quanitsed, this guy was fusing electronic music with hip hop and treating that ONE IDEA as everyone else should: something to flirt with and then move the fuck on. Now, a couple years down the line he's making some of the slickest rnb that ever kissed an ear drum. It's a great honour to have him represent on here. But you know, ignore the blurb, cause this tape is 99.9 booty moosic. So strap up your vandals it's gonna be a long night on the dancefloor - or just sittin still on the tube, listening on your ipod.

Peace to Helen.

43. Kode 9 - Hyper Luck Mix

It's more than genre. It's more than what's new. It's about whats true and real. Kode 9 is motivated by pure ideas in music. And it's not just about the synthetic or the low end or the tempo or the artwork. It's about the unique place that music can take you. Music is a journey for him. To us here at LuckyMe, Kode 9 defines 'good sensibility' and so we were honoured to step on board this month for 50 minutes with Kode 9 at the healm. This is the Hyper Luck Mix. Hope you like.

Peace to Danna. You saved the day buddy.

42. The Blessings - Thunder in Paradise Mix

The Summer has been a non-starter here in Scotland. It hit me pretty hard the other day when my vitamin D deficient face looked out the window for another overcast day in the lab. But it's kinda beautiful in its own way and it adds extra meaning to songs that can normally coast over you. Me & Fine Art made three tapes this month - one for Dazed, one for Nalden and this one here was just sorta labour of love with some really weird shit ( verging from new Hudson Mo to modern classical, fusion, 90s rnb & soul ) to bring some balance and new meaning to a Summer of dreich ( Scottish for shitty weather ).

Peace to Danna's friend, Um is that Pixie? I don't even know.

36. Dâm-Funk - Funk is NOT a fad

This year has been Dâm-Funk's year. Which is kinda ironic given the man is the anti-hipster. He loves this music. He loves its very essence. With Damon you should know you aren't getting a DJ that's just exploring genres looking for ideas. These are not samples on this tape, fresh for the plunder. Nor are you getting a connoisseurial collectors tape here. I mean, who else lists labels and the year on his tracklisting? Dam is for sharing. If this music is rare then so be it. It's only there cause in Dâm-Funk's mind this is the best party in the cosmos - and you are invited. He lives this music. The real deal. We got this in the post with a note saying '"All music was recorded via the 'original wax' recordings. No Mp3's or re-issues were used whatsoever. Oh, and stay FREE!!" We're trying homey.

Peace to Jo.

32. Bok Bok - Manara's Golden Fleece Mix

About 3 years ago I was dredging a vintage shop and in a coffin amongst a bunch of the tweed I found the polyester vision in gold that you see on the left. The shit was kinda showey to wear in public more than a handful of times so I gave it to my homeboy Joe Ballers. Then when this dope, dope mix landed in my inbox from Bok Bok I found out the full story that Joe had got drunk last week and had gifted it to Bok Bok in return for a mix for the site. You the man Joe. Cold night home huh. The stuff of legend - this jacket has become the littlest hobo of streetwear. The golden fleece is now with the excellent Manara. Straight up, this tape is banging.

Few promoters or djs stand out to us like the H&P guys who run a few great clubs aound Glasgow. The residents are discerning as fuck so we asked them to hook us up. Part two will no doubt come soon. True story - Respite's parents knew Dom's parents many moons ago. Dom had an amazing red trampoline which he grew out off by age 4 and one night, when he wasn't lookin it found it's way to Respite's house. This is Dom writting this. I hated this guy for ages until we met again a few years ago at the DoubleSpeak Vex'd show. Since getting to know Joe again he's been making amazing music and playing dope dj sets around the UK. We comissioned this mixtape a few months ago but his decks were set up on his bedroom floor. His studio game is poor but his trampoline game is crazy.

And hanging around the best record shop in Scotland, Rub A Dub records, there's this alpha male looking dude called the Jackmaster - our main poppa dawg. He runs the excellent labels Dress2Sweat and Wireblock and we often play shows together.

He did this mix for Sinden's Kiss FM show recently and we thought it was extremely good. And seens as we are embracing our rave reputation this month we thought we would chalk up two new tapes for you to download and enjoy. Be wary though. This shit is not for your office. Unless you work at Rub A Dub.

Peace to Thea & Hannah for being the tape girls!!! Again, we didn't ask them but, you know, you are very cool.

  Dema Dawg aka RKBG

17. Dema - RichKidGangBang's Here Club Tape

Our stone-cold-brother Dema moved to Berlin in June and it's given him the economic freedom to become an amazingly dumb producer of booty and club music under the new monicker of RKBG. We have our own private forum where we all chat shit to each other and post youtubes of Kci & Jo Jo and he just upped this tape to us as an example of the shit he was playing out. It kinda fitted with our tip this month to be honest to the club and humour this weird reputation for raves that LuckyMe has. We've been too pompous lately and needed to hose it all down with this fun tape.

Peace to Asta this month. We didn't know how to ask you for your permission this month and we were terrified to come round to your flat so, like, if you have a problem with a couple thousand people downloading an image of you to their iPod then totally slap Dom next time you see him.

Chipmunk – Dharrell ( another one of our Glasgow homeys! )
Day & Night – Kid Cudi (Crookers mix)
Gangsters – Rico Tubbs (discobelle edit)

  7VWWVW aka MAMMAL

16. 7VWWVW - Lucky Mammal Tape

I arrived at work today about an hour late and there was a brown envelope posted through the door with c/o Dom LuckyMe. Inside was a 45 vinyl effect CD-R and a note typed in Akzidenz Grotesk with the following message from 7VWWVW - " Recorded at the stroke of midnight on July 18th 2008 using two domestic record playing devices and a modest assortment of analogue synthesisers. Band personnel took it in turn to select, hence the relatively diverse nature if the musical presentation. Thanks. "

Hey and extra thanks to Annie from New Idols for being tape girl. Most awesome of you.

Peace Annie.

tapioca cosmic disco soul mix by dj babes

15. DJ Babes - Tapioca Cosmic Soul

We've been in awe of the mixes babes leaves in the streetwear shop Dom Sum works in. It's called Oddities and you can find it on Victoria Street in Edinburgh. Babes has been playing the ( really, real talk ) best hip hop, soul and disco in scotland for 12 years. His vinyl ways a tonne. But we all know collectors right? We all know those guys who compromise their life to own vinyl. Thing is Babes is discerning as fuck and equally pop as fuck. And thats why we had to ask him for a mix of his clattering disco.

And that's Oddities CEO Vixy Rae as tape girl this month. She's the hova of tee shirts.

Peace to Vixy.

  The Blesssings Star Podcast

14. The Blessings - XLR8R Star Podcast

The problem with the concept of having girls on top of girls peddling our free tapes is that some of us actually have girlfriends. In the case of LuckyMe godfather FineArt, he's had to listen to the true queen of our crew, Emma, bleet and complain about which tape she's gonna get and when. Well we waited and waited for a photo that was 'good enough' but this is our Blessings Star Podcast for XLR8R. It went out to 10,000+ people worldwide on itunes, and a further 5000 from their own website. And well... It's deserving of the right girl. This photo will have to do Emmanem.

Peace to Emma.

9. Jay Pizza - Goose Got Me Loose Mixtape

"Goose... A verb, which means to grab someone between their butt cheeks and to squeeze, almost with an intent to hurt, although it is often done in a joking, playful manner between friends. The most common way to goose someone is with the fingers and thumb of one hand. The fingers grab from the bottom, and the thumb from the top." - this is a largely instrumental mix by Jay P of current beat and vintage dills' music, joining the dots between the acts we are feeling in the global sphere of LuckyMe.

1. Oddities X LuckyMe - FineArt and Hudson Mohawke

This was our first promo mix for the streetwear brand Oddities, way back in July 07. We took this mix to Barcelona's Bread and Butter trade show alongwith the Oddities Catalogue and 300 CDs flew the coop in 15 minutes. Next year we're gonna do it on lazer disk and have the two dumbest hip hop shop owners fight it out to see who gets it. On the real, for every breder wearing their New Era still folded on the back of their head, we met a really hot girl who paints watercolours on the side of limited footwear so don't think we are hating. In a perfect world we would only play fashion trade shows. 2010 we are becoming a strict fashion record label who only play trade shows and dress ridiculous. Can't wait.

Peace to Paisley in the photo.
